Police in Jersey City are on the search for suspects who produced weapons then opened fired in a neighborhood in the city Tuesday night.
According to police, at approximately 10 p.m., officers responded to multiple rounds of gunfire that rang out in the 60's block of Stevens Avenue.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found multiple shell casings and were told that there was a possible victim that left the area.
Police immediately located hospitals in the region to be on the lookout for potential walk-in gunshot victims.
Authorities believe suspects occupying a dark-colored Jeep Grand Cherokee pulled up in the area and began to fire shots at unknown targets before speeding away.
The motive for the shooting has not been determined at this time.
