Jersey City Police took a male into custody and charged him with possession of a loaded weapon at a location in the city Monday evening.
According to police, units responded to Oak Street near MLK Drive to investigate reports of a person with a weapon at around 8:22 p.m.
Upon arrival, units found a person fitting the description of the suspect at that location.
When officers attempted to question the suspect, he sprinted away from the scene.
Officers were able to catch the suspect and recover a weapon on Oak Street according to reports.
There were no injuries reported.
