Police in Newark are investigating a shots-fired incident that resulted in a stray bullet smashing through the window of a home in a section of the city Saturday morning.
According to police, the incident happened just before noon, where authorities believe suspects in a vehicle began to fire shots at another car in the 200 block of South Orange Avenue.
Police say while the cars speeded onto 14th Avenue, shooters continued to fire more shots at the vehicle which caused a crash and a downed pole with wires.
One of the bullets shattered the glass at a residence in the 100 block of 14th Avenue (New Community Corporation Estates). The shooter ran from the location toward the housing development on Camden Street.
After a search of the house and the crashed vehicle, there were no injuries reported.
