Police in Newark are on the search for a suspect wanted for a violent stabbing that occurred on a street in the city Thursday.
According to police, the incident happened at approximately 3:55 p.m. in the 600 block of 15th Avenue.
Police say they arrived at the scene and found a male victim bleeding heavily from his wrist after being stabbed at that location.
According to the victim, an unidentified suspect approached armed with a knife and began to attack. The suspect was last seen wearing a mask and a yellow hooded jacket when he fled the area the victim said.
Police say the victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.
The motive for the attack is under investigation.
