A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Paul Barbosa, also known as Jessica Barbosa, 31, of Newark, in an incident that occurred on Friday, February 28th.
Police say shortly before 3:15 a.m., a man driving in the area of 6th Avenue and 7th Street was flagged down by an individual requesting a ride.
The passenger exited the driver’s vehicle at 7th Avenue and 7th Street and removed the victim’s wallet containing $1,000.00 in cash and personal property.
Detectives developed sufficient evidence to identify Paul Barbosa as a suspect in this incident and obtained an arrest warrant on a charge of Theft.
While police are actively searching for Barbosa, we seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating the suspect as part of this investigation.
Barbosa is described as 5’5” tall and 140 lbs. with a light complexion and blue eyes.
