Trio Arrested for Distributing Drugs in Ocean County

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer has announced the culmination of a two-month cooperative investigation into the distribution of Cocaine in the Seaside Heights area.

Officials say an investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force and Seaside Heights Police Department Detective Bureau identified a hotel room in Seaside Heights as being utilized to store and distribute quantities of Cocaine.

According to Ocean County Officials, Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and Seaside Heights Police Department executed a search warrant on the subject hotel room.

As a result, Detectives seized approximately forty-five grams of Crack Cocaine, twenty folds of Heroin, a quantity of Marijuana, and $1600 in cash.

The following individuals were arrested as they were attempting to leave the hotel:

Police say Mr. Quran Thomas, 40, of Manalapan, was charged with Possession of Cocaine in a Quantity Greater than One-Half Ounce but Less than Five Ounces with Intent to Distribute in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(2); Possession of Cocaine in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(1); Possession of Heroin in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(1); and Possession of Marijuana in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(4).

Thomas was transported to the Seaside Heights Police station, where he was processed and released pending a future court date.

According to police Mr. Bryan Burgos, 34, of Lakewood, was charged with Possession of Cocaine in a Quantity Greater than One-Half Ounce but Less than Five Ounces with Intent to Distribute in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(2); Possession of Cocaine in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(1); Possession of Heroin in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(1); and Possession of Marijuana in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(4).

Burgos is currently lodged in the Ocean County Jail on unrelated pending matters.

Ms. Akira Randle, 22, of Seaside Heights, was charged with Possession of Cocaine in a Quantity Greater than One-Half Ounce but Less than Five Ounces with Intent to Distribute in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-5b(2); Possession of Cocaine in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(1); Possession of Heroin in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-10a(1); and Possession of Marijuana in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:35-104-a(4).

Officials say Randle was transported to the Seaside Heights Police station, where she was processed and released pending a future court date.
