Police in Newark are investigating an incident where a fight erupted onboard a public bus in Newark's downtown on Monday afternoon.
According to preliminary reports, police pulled the #31 bus over near the intersection of South Orange Avenue and Littleton Avenue after they received reports of a large brawl between several passengers at approximately 4:20 p.m.
Police say passengers boarded the bus on Market Street when an argument erupted between several passengers that ultimately erupted people throwing punches while others attempted to break up the dispute near Market Street and University Avenue.
Police say the incident remains under investigation.
According to residents, there were no serious injuries reported.
