An incident in which four people were stabbed, one fatally, outside a Plainfield nightclub overnight is under joint investigation by the Union County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Task Force, the Plainfield Police Division, and Union County Sheriff’s Office, acting Union County Prosecutor Lyndsay V. Ruotolo announced Sunday.
The identity of the deceased victim, an adult male, is being withheld from disclosure pending notification of family members.
Police say after 2 a.m. on Sunday, members of the Plainfield Police Division responded to a report of a stabbing at the Chez Maree nightclub on Watchung Avenue, according to the preliminary investigation.
At that location, officers found four stabbing victims, one of whom was subsequently pronounced dead.
The remaining three, all adult males, were transported to a local hospital for emergency treatment.
