Police officials in Newark are not reporting suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of a baby found at a residence in Newark Sunday morning.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to an unspecified address on Littleton Avenue after receiving reports of a medical call just before 9:10 a.m.
Upon arrival, police found an unconscious and unresponsive baby around the age of 8-months-old.
The child was pronounced dead a short time later, according to police.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office has not reported an investigation and the State regional Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause of death for the child.
