BREAKING NEWARK: Two Women Dead, Two Males Critical After Speeding Car Slams into Tree in Newark

According to primary reports, the early morning violent collision happened in the 300 block of 15th Avenue near Hunterdon Street at approximately 3:39 a.m.

Police say a speeding car somehow lost control and slammed into a tree, causing about four occupants to become trapped inside the vehicle.

Newark bravest firefighters and University Hospital rescue crews rushed to the scene and used the ’Jaws of Life’ to cut the victims out of the car, but once they got to the injured, at least two of them were confirmed dead.

Police say two others were rushed to University Hospital suffering ’life-threatening injuries.’

From the focal vantage point of our overnight crew members, they could not immediately tell if another car was involved.

Police were called to assist at University Hospital for crowd control as grieving family members began to gather.

There is no confirmation if police were chasing the vehicle at this time.

**NPD UPDATE 6:47AM:** ”Shortly after 3:30 a.m. today police responded to 15th Avenue and Hunterdon Street on a call of a motor vehicle crash. A black Infinity G35 struck a ’no parking’ for street cleaning sign pole and a tree.

Two female passengers have been pronounced deceased. Two males passengers have been transported to University Hospital and are reportedly in critical condition and one female passenger is in stable condition.

This incident is under investigation”.
