Middlesex County Acting Prosecutor Christopher L.C. Kuberiet and Chief Thomas Bryan of the Edison Police Department announced today that a 56-year-old woman and her granddaughter have been identified as the victims who perished Wednesday in an Edison fire.
Official say, Kathleen O’Callahan, 56, and her 6-year-old granddaughter, both of Edison, have been identified by the Middlesex County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office as the victims who were discovered shortly after the fire which occurred at Jill Court at approximately 2:21 on January 22, 2020.
Officials say the family dog also died in the fire.
According to fire officials, Ms. O’Callahan was pronounced dead at the scene.
The child was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital but died shortly after due to her injuries.
