The NJ State Police are investigating a pedestrian strike that caused fatal injuries to a man on a highway in Middlesex County late Saturday night.
Police say officers responded at 9:36 p.m to a motor vehicle accident on I-287 North, MP 6 in Piscataway.
According to police, a Subaru Forrester was traveling northbound in the Center Lane when Mr. David Shawiak, 21, of South Plainfield entered the roadway and was struck by the Subaru.
As a result of the accident, the Shawiak suffered fatal injuries according to police.
Police say the driver of the car Ms. Elizabeth A. Connolly, 54-years-old from High Bridge suffered no injuries.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
