Jersey City police are on the scene of a double shooting at a location in the city at this time.
According to preliminary reports, police responded to reports of shots fired at around 8:40 p.m. in the vicinity of Ocean Avenue and Bidwell.
When officers arrived at the scene they found a male and a female bleeding after suffering bullet wounds on their legs according to police.
A black male suspect who wore a dark hoodie, black pants, white t-shirt and sneakers produced a weapon and began firing in the direction of the victims.
Police say the pair was transported to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment and expected to survive.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
