Police in Newark are attempting to determine the motive for a stabbing incident that occurred in the city's downtown on Saturday.
According to preliminary reports, the early morning incident happened just before 1:22 a.m., where police were called to the vicinity of 790 Broad Street.
Upon arrival, police found the victim suffering a non-fatal stab wound at that location.
The victim reported that a black male suspect who wore a dark-colored jacket and dreads fled from the scene after the attack.
The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment and expected to make a full recovery.
Police are investigating the motive for the stabbing.
