Elizabeth Police are on the scene of a shooting that has a male injured at this time.
According to preliminary reports, gunfire rang out in the vicinity of 556 Walnut Street at around 7:10 p.m.
Officers arrived and found the victim suffering a bullet wound in the leg and en route to University Hospital in Newark.
The condition of the victim is currently being reported as stable.
Police have a crime scene established and an investigation underway.
