There is an active investigation underway into a train strike that killed two people this morning in Middlesex.
According to NJ Transit officials, the collision happened at the Cedar Avenue Rail Road tracks just before 8:10 a.m.
Officials say the train collided with the car that was on the tracks at that location.
Two unidentified adult females inside the car were pronounced dead at the scene.
There were no injuries reported for about 30 passengers onboard the train.
