Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose respectfully urges the public to not drive while impaired during the New Year's Eve and New Year's Day celebrations.
“Newark police will be out in force to make sure our roads are safe,” Ambrose said. “We will be conducting DWI enforcement operations around the city. There will be a heavy police presence to clear the roads of impaired drivers.”
The city urges those who plan to celebrate utilize designated drivers, taxis or other ride-sharing services, like Uber or Lyft, if impaired.
“The greatest holiday gift you can give your family is to arrive home safely,” Ambrose said.
Director Ambrose and the entire Newark Department of Public Safety wishes all a Happy and Safe New Year.
