A woman who was found dead at a location in Newark's South Ward last week will not be investigated as a homicide.
According to officials, Ms. Seceria Tucker, 42, of Newark was found unconscious and unresponsive on Fabyan Place on during the overnight hours of Friday, December 13.
Police say Tucker was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead by doctors just before 10 a.m. Friday.
Authorities say while they believe overdose caused Tucker's death, officials at the State Regional Medical Examiners office will make the final determination.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office has not announced a homicide investigation.
