The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office has been requested to the scene of a pedestrian strike that has a female severely injured at this time in Belleville.
According to preliminary reports, the pedestrian was attempting to cross the intersection of Mills Street and Washington Avenue when a vehicle struck her causing critical injuries just before 6:57 p.m.
The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment according to reports.
There is an active and ongoing investigation to determine the official cause of the incident at this time.
