Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella announced the arrest of Mr. Kenneth F. Pinte, 21, of Paramus, on charges of Reckless Manslaughter, Hindering Apprehension, and Unlawful Purchase Of A Firearm.
​ The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti and the Paramus Police Department under the direction of Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg.
According to police on Saturday, the Paramus Police Department notified the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office that a woman died from an apparent gunshot wound in a residence at 5 Pleasant Avenue, Paramus.
Officials say an investigation revealed that Ms. Faith Youngling, 18, was in the basement of the residence and died from a gunshot wound.
According to officials, an autopsy determined that the injuries were self-inflicted.
The investigation further revealed that Pinte recklessly provided Faith Youngling the shotgun that caused her death and that he had purchased the shotgun illegally.
As a result of the investigation, police arrested Pinte and charged him with one count of Reckless Manslaughter, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:11-4b(1), a 2nd degree crime; one count of Hindering Apprehension, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:29-3b(1), a 2nd degree crime, and one count of Unlawful Purchase Of A Firearm, in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:58-3b, a 4th degree crime.
Pinte was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending a first appearance in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
