Fire officials in Harrison are looking into the cause of a fire that damaged a building in the town on Friday night.
According to preliminary reports, firefighters were called to the intersection of Harrison Avenue and 3rd Street after they received calls of a fire inside a mixed-use building at approximately 10:25 p.m.
Fast responding firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the three-story apartment building with a dental office on the ground floor.
Crews entered the building and began a search for the fire, which was ultimately located in the walls between the first and second floors, according to preliminary reports.
Officials say flames caused some damage to the awning of the business but was immediately knocked down Harrison's Firefighters who were assisted by Kearny.
According to officials from the American Red Cross, two residents were displaced due to damage from the fire.
There were injuries reported and the incident remains under investigation.
