Police arrested several suspects who bailed from a carjacked vehicle that crashed at a location in Newark on Thursday night.
According to preliminary reports, police attempted to pull over a grey Nissan in the area of South Orange Avenue and 14th Street occupied by suspects wanted for a carjacking.
Police say the driver sped away and led officers on a chase through several parts of the city.
According to police, the car lost control and crashed into a store located in the vicinity of 535 Central Avenue -near 10th Street- just before 9:15 p.m.
Police say three suspects bailed from the vehicle in an attempt to escape capture.
Two of the males were immediately apprehended while about a dozen officers surrounded the area and captured a third person who they say was hiding.
There were no serious injuries reported and the incident remains under investigation.
