The Union County Prosecutor's Office has taken over the investigation into a pedestrian strike that killed a teenage boy on Wednesday night.
According to a brief statement released by city Spokeswoman Kelly Martins, the incident happened on Tuesday evening at approximately 8:05 p.m.,
Spokeswoman Martins said a 16-year-old male collided with a large tow truck that was making a right turn onto South Spring Street from Elizabeth Avenue.
The unidentified boy died of his injuries shortly after," said Mayor J. Christian Bollwage.
"This was a tragic accident and my thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of this young man. The City Council will discuss the parameters of its relationship with Lime.
