UNION, N.J. — Kean President Dawood Farahi, Ph.D., this week toured Hynes Hall, Kean’s newest academic building which is currently under construction, with a delegation of top leadership from the University and the College of Business and Public Management (CBPM) and its schools.
Three architecture students from Kean's Michael Graves College who have been assisting with the development of Hynes Hall were also on the tour.
Hynes Hall will be the new home of CBPM when it opens in Fall 2020. It carries the name of Jim Hynes, a 1963 Kean graduate, and his wife Carole, who announced a significant contribution towards the development of the new academic facility last fall.
The sneak peek of the building offered a glimpse of what is to come. The 90,000 square foot structure will house all of Kean’s undergraduate and graduate business programs; a "Bloomberg room" where students can work on the Bloomberg business intelligence software; a rooftop deck with a view of New York City; a virtual "library in the sky” and other state-of-the-art classroom and academic resources.
Hynes Hall will be home to some of Kean’s fastest-growing academic programs. Over the past five years, enrollment in Kean’s business programs has increased by 16 percent on all campuses, with a 29 percent increase at Wenzhou-Kean University and a nearly 12 percent climb at Kean USA. Today, more than 4,900 students are pursuing business degrees at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
