Authorities in Elizabeth are looking into the motive behind a stabbing that injured a person in the city early Sunday morning.
According to preliminary reports, officials at Trinitas Hospital contacted police when an unidentified person entered the emergency department suffering a stab injury around 1:30 a.m.
Police say the victim reported that the incident occurred near the 7-Eleven in the 300 block of Elizabeth Avenue before arriving at the hospital.
The victim's injuries were not reported as life-threatening, according to reports.
The investigation into what exactly took place remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been reported.
