Paterson Police officials are looking into the motive for a shooting that caused property damage in a neighborhood in the city on Monday morning.
According to police, gunfire rang out in the vicinity of 673 East 25th Street at approximately 1:15 a.m.
When officers arrived at the scene, they notified hospitals in the region to be on the alert for possible walk-in shooting victims after police found about a half dozen shell casings at that location.
Police say bullets struck a car, but a search of the area indicated no victims.
The shooting remains under investigation.
