Middlesex County authorities are investigating a house fire that caused fatal injuries in Jamesburg on Wednesday morning.
According to preliminary reports, firefighters rushed to the single-digit block of Sheridan Street to investigate reports of a fire with possible trapped occupants at approximately 3:20 a.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy fire coming from a home where they struck a second alarm for manpower.
Firefighters stretched several lines to knock down the flames in under an hour, but after a search of the single-family home, at least two people were found dead and one person was considered unaccounted for as of 4 a.m. according to News 12 NJ.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
