Officials in East Orange are attempting to determine if weather played a role in the collapse of a house on a residential street in the city on Thursday night.
According to preliminary reports, firefighters rushed to the 200 block of Halsted Street after receiving reports of a building collapse that occurred before 8:30 p.m.
Rescue crews arrived to find that a portion of the rear of the house -located at 281 Halsted- collapsed in the alley-way.
Firefighters checked the home for trapped and injured occupants, but there were no injuries reported.
Strong winds that passed through the area from a storm is being investigated as the cause.
