Police in Newark are investigating the cause of a crash that caused minor injuries to a woman and children at a location in the city on Wednesday night.
According to preliminary reports, a female driver of a car somehow lost control of her vehicle and slammed into the NJ State vehicle near the intersection of 1st Avenue and North 11th Street at approximately 6:35 p.m.
Police say the impact of the crash caused the vehicle to overturn, but the driver managed to escape the car.
A woman and three of her children in a separate vehicle were transported to an area hospital for observation, but there were no reports of severe injuries.
The official cause of the crash is under investigation.
