The victim in Wednesday's fatal crash has been identified as Jorge Guevara, 41, of Elizabeth.
Police say Guevara was traveling in a vehicle that collided with a parked tractor-trailer on the 1100 block of W. St. George Avenue just before 1:00 am on Wednesday, October 23rd.
According to police, he was extricated from the vehicle by Linden Fire Department personnel and transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Rahway where he was later pronounced deceased.
The driver of the vehicle was transported to Newark University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He has since been released according to police.
The crash remains under joint investigation by the Linden Police Traffic Bureau and the Union County Homicide Task Force.
