Toms River authorities are investigating a reported armed robbery that occurred in the city on Thursday morning.
According to a preliminary investigation, police responded to the vicinity of 99 Belmont Drive to investigate reports of an armed robbery in progress.
Units arrived and found the victim who reported that a black male suspect arrived in the area, produced a weapon and demanded personal possessions just before 1:40 a.m.
Police say the suspect took jewelry and other items before fleeing the scene in a dark-colored vehicle.
According to reports, police located the unoccupied car near the Garden State Parkway entrance.
There were no injuries reported.
