Newark Firefighters battled a fast moving fire that damaged a vacant house on the northside of the city overnight.
According to fire officials, firefighters responded to a fire inside a two and a half story located at 328 North 7th Street at approximately 1:40 a.m.
Upon arrival, crews observed heavy fire on the first floor that began to extend to the second floor of the home.
Officials say firefighters began to fight the fire externally after the blaze started to spread to neighboring homes from the structure.
It took firefighters just under an hour to bring the fire under control and after a search of the house, there were trapped on injured occupants.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
