A utility worker suffered injuries after a worksite accident caused a power outage to hundreds of residents in a section of Bayonne this afternoon.

According to preliminary reports, the incident happened in the vicinity of 30th and Ave C when the worker raised the lift too high causing the equipment to knock down a power line just before 4:45 p.m.
The incident caused a power outage on 29th Street through 33rd and C between Broadway and Ave C on 29th according to reports.
The worker is expected to survive his injury.
