According to AccuWeather forecasters, the morning hours in Northern New Jersey will start dry, but heavy rain will move into parts of the area at around noon and will intensify before it's all done later on Wednesday evening.
Accuweather forecasters said a general 2-3 inches of rain is anticipated from northern New Jersey and eastern New York state to southern and central New England, where 4 inches is most likely to be achieved.
"The weather for the scheduled ALCS game in New York City and NJ State High School soccer and outdoor games during Wednesday evening is likely to be stormy with drenching rain and gusty wind."
AccuWeather said showers this morning will change to steadier rain during the afternoon hours. The highs should be near 70F with winds picking up SE at 10 to 20 mph.
