Newark Police officials are reporting the arrest of Mr. Isaiah Gordon, 32, of Hillside, for possession of a loaded and stolen handgun.
According to police, Gordon was arrested Sunday in the 300 block of South Orange Avenue during an investigation by the Police Division’s Criminal Intelligence Unit. Gordon was found in possession of the handgun, stolen out of East Orange.
Police say he faces charges of unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of prohibited weapons for an extended magazine, resisting arrest, obstruction of the administration of the law, receiving stolen property and certain persons prohibited from weapon possession.
These charges are merely accusations.
This suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
