Newark Police officials are reporting non-life threatening injuries for a child struck by a car in the city's North Ward Saturday evening.
According to police, the incident happened shortly before 4:30 p.m., where emergency responders rushed to the 500 block of Summer Avenue after receiving reports of a pedestrian struck by a pickup truck at that location.
Upon arrival, EMs found the injured 5-year-old then transported him to University Hospital for treatment.
Police say the driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
The incident remains under investigation.
