Newark Police officials are reporting that members of the Newark Fire Division removed a deceased male from a two-alarm fire at 388 Summer Avenue today.
Officials say, firefighters responded to the fire at the two and a half story residential building at 5:54 a.m., with 65 firefighters on scene.
According to fire officials say one male was located on the first floor and has been pronounced deceased.
A second male is reportedly in critical condition, three other adults suffered minor injuries and two animals have been found dead at the scene.
The fire was considered under control at 6:40 a.m. in which our families, including seven adults and no children, have been relocated.
The cause and origin of the fire is under investigation by the Newark Fire Division’s Arson Unit.
