Police officials in Linden are investgiating a pedestrian strike that injured a resident on Tuesday evening.
According to a statement released Linden Police, the incident happed at around 7:15 p.m. where a pedestrian was struck while crossing the intersection of Roselle and Union Streets.
Police say the victim, a 59-year-old man, was struck by a 2012 Chevy Tahoe as he attempted to cross the street.
EMS rushed the victim to Newark's University Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say the driver of the vehicle, a 27-year-old man, was not injured in the crash. According to the police, the victim and driver are both Linden Residents.
The crash remains under investigation by the Linden Police Traffic Bureau, and anyone with information is urged to contact Inv. Jimmy Solano at (908) 474-8505.
