This developing information comes to you from the vicinity of Anna Street and Jefferson Avenue where multiple detectives and police officers are searching storm drains, under cars, and in alleys for evidence to support a motive for a shooting that occurred this evening.
According to preliminary reports, gunfire rang out just outside the park before 8 p.m.
Police were sent to the scene and when officers arrived they located an unidentified person struck by bullets.
EMS transported the injured person to University Hospital in Newark in an unknown condition.
Residents in the area did not speak much about the shooting and only would say they heard several popping noises then saw a woman run down the street crying.
It is not clear if that woman was struck by gunfire.
Tonight’s shooting makes it three shootings in three days for Elizabeth.
