**BREAKING UPDATE**: Police say that it now appears 5-year-old Dulce Maria Alavez was abducted.
Police in Bridgeton are on the search for a 5-year-old girl who went missing Monday afternoon.
Police say that the man drove a red van and is light-skinned, possibly Hispanic. He is about 5-feet, 6-inches tall with a thin build and no facial hair. He is said to have acne on his face. He was last seen wearing orange sneakers, red pants and a black shirt.
According to a statement released by police, Dulce Maria Alavez was last seen near Bridgeton City Park and somehow disappeared from the area.
Bridgeton Police officials say The Cumberland County Prosecutor are now involved in a search that continued into the early morning hours of Tuesday, but no real leads have been made.
Police say Alavez was last seen wearing brown pants with flowers and butterflies, a pink shirt with long sleeves and white dress shoes.
Bridgeton police immediately knocked down reports that the girl was found saying the statements are false.
