Passaic and Bergen County authorities are investigating the circumstances behind a shooting that killed a man in Paterson during the overnight hours.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the Alaris Health nursing home facility located in the 90's block of Parkway in Richelle Park to investigate reports of an injured person who was dropped off at the facility at approximately 8:55 p.m.
Units arrived and found an unconscious and unresponsive male who was later officially pronounced dead.
The victim was transported by private vehicle to the Bergen County senior nursing home after being shots at an undisclosed location in Paterson according to reports.
Two of the victim's friends reported looking for a hospital to take the victim but found the nursing home facility during their search.
The driver of the vehicle left the fatally injured male and two friends at the nursing home and remains at-large.
