Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Passaic Police Chief Luis A. Guzman announce that based upon an investigation by the Passaic Police Department, in conjunction with the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, and the New Jersey State Police Fugitive Task Force, Mr. Albert A. Robinson, 32, from Irvington, and Darnell R. Reeves, 35, from Jersey City, were arrested in relation to a shooting investigation that took place August 23, in the area of Wall Street Passaic.

Police say, Mr. Robinson is charged with Attempted Murder, First Degree (2 counts); Unlawful Possession of a Handgun, Second Degree; Possession of a Handgun for an Unlawful Purpose, Second Degree and Certain Persons Not to Have Weapons, Second Degree. Mr. Reeves is charged with Attempted Murder, First Degree (2 counts); Unlawful Possession of a Handgun, Second Degree; Possession of a Handgun for an Unlawful Purpose, Second Degree and Certain Persons Not to Have Weapons, Second Degree.
According to police, August 23, members of the Passaic Police Department responded to the area of Wall Street on a report of a shooting.
Upon arrival members of the Passaic Police Department located evidence of a crime scene as well as a 34-year-old male Paterson resident who sustained a non- fatal gunshot wound.
The victim was immediately transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, NJ for treatment. In addition a 30-year-old male Paterson resident was shot at but not injured.
Based on the investigation Mr. Reeves was charged and arrested on September 5, 2019 in Kenilworth, NJ by the New Jersey State Police Fugitive Task Force. Mr. Robinson was charged and arrested on September 6, 2019 in Avenel, NJ by the New Jersey State Police Fugitive Task Force.
The sentencing exposure for Mr. Robison on each count of First Degree Attempted Murder is 10- 20 years New Jersey State Prison with 85% of the term to be served before parole pursuant to the No Early Release Act and 5 years parole supervision; on Second Degree, Unlawful Possession of a Handgun it is 5-10 years New Jersey State Prison with a minimum of 42 months before parole eligibility pursuant to the Graves Act; on Second Degree Possession of a Handgun for an Unlawful Purpose it is 5-10 years New Jersey State Prison with 42 months of parole ineligibility
pursuant to the Graves Act and on Certain Persons Not to Have Weapons it is 5-10 years New Jersey State Prison with a 5 year period of parole ineligibility pursuant to the Graves Act.

The State has filed a motion for pretrial detention for Mr. Robinson and Mr. Reeves in this matter that will be heard by a Superior Court Judge.
A criminal complaint is merely an accusation. Despite this accusation, defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
