There were non-life threatening injuries reported for two firefighters who battled a blaze that ignited inside a house in Trenton Tuesday night.
According to preliminary reports, heavy fire tore through the first and second floors of a two-story wood-framed house located in the 500 block of Centre Street just before 11:30 p.m.
Crews arrived and found flames extending to neighboring homes -on both sides- and immediately struck a second alarm for manpower according to fire officials.
Officials say firefighters beat down the intense fire that pushed from the windows of the home before they made their way inside to check for trapped and/or injured occupants.
According to fire officials, a firefighter suffered a non-life threatening shoulder injury and was transported to Robert Wood Johnson Hamilton for treatment. The second firefighter sustained a minor injury according to fire officials.
Trenton police arson unit were requested to the scene and no other injuries were reported in the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
