Elizabeth Firefighters battled a multi-alarm fire that tore through a garden apartment building Tuesday night.
According to fire off officials, heavy fire raced from a second-floor apartment at 715 Newark Avenue sending firefighters to the scene where they arrived to find the structure fully involved at around 8:30 p.m.
Crews battle flames coming from the structure but a roof collapse forced firefighters from the building.
Fire officials struck a second then third alarm for mutual assistance as fire continued to spread through the building.
As of 10:25 p.m., the blaze had not been placed under control.
There are no serious injuries reported.
