Firefighters in Union battled a fast-moving fire that tore through a house in the Township Saturday evening.
According to fire officials, Union firefighters responded to a report of a house fire at 282 Revere Avenue, at approximately 6 p.m.
Upon arrival, Maplewood and Union fire departments observed heavy flames engulfing the two-story wood-framed structure and extending to a home next door.
Officials say both departments worked together and stretched multiple lines to keep the fire from extending to exposures. The fire was brought under control within 25 minutes.
According to fire officials, there were no injuries reported to civilians or firefighters. Officials say coincidentally both departments operated together seven years ago at the same house when it caught fire the first time.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
