Newark Firefighters battled an early morning fire that tore through a house near an International House of Pancakes restaurant and University Hospital Sunday
According to preliminary reports from officials, there were no serious injuries in the fast-moving two-alarm blaze that tore through a house located in the 100 block of Camden Street just before 7:30 a.m.
Officials say, flames ripped through the upper level of the wood-framed three-story house forcing crews to temporarily focus their attention battling the blaze externally.
Firefighters ultimately managed to gain the upper hand of the fire where they then began a search for trapped and injured occupants.
Fired officials placed the fire under control at approximately 8:25 a.m. with the cause under investigation.
