There were non-fatal injuries reported for a child who was struck by a car on a busy street in Elizabeth Wednesday afternoon.
According to a statement released by Elizabeth city spokeswoman Kelly Martins, the incident happened at approximately 1:08 pm, at the intersection of Bayway and Maple avenues,
Spokeswoman Martins said an 8-year-old child entered the roadway and was struck by a car, operated by an Elizabeth resident.
The unidentified child was transported to Beth Israel Hospital suffering facial injuries but is expected to make a full recovery spokeswoman Martins said.
The driver stayed at the scene and no summonses were issued according to spokeswoman Martins.
