Newark Police officers took a child door to door in an attempt to find his parents after officials say he was found wandering in the city’s South Ward.
According to preliminary reports, the child -around 1 to 2 years old- was found in the vicinity of Chadwick and Madison avenues at around 12:50 p.m.
The boy was taken to University Hospital for evaluation but did not appear injured.
It is not clear of the boy’s parents were found as for 1:30 p.m.
