Emergency responders rushed to the scene of a crash with injuries reported in a neighborhood in Newark's South Ward late Sunday morning.
According to preliminary reports, it happened in the vicinity of Hunterdon Street and Renner Avenue at approximately 11:42 a.m. where police and firefighters received word of a crash with possible trapped occupants.
Rescue crews arrived and found that the driver of the car left the roadway, drove a short distance on the sidewalk, then crashed into a utility pole according to reports.

At least one person suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by Newark Police.
