Authorities in Essex County are investigating a police pursuit that resulted in a fiery crash in Newark's Ironbound section on Friday morning.
According to preliminary reports, police began following a vehicle wanted in connection with a felony homicide when officers made several attempts to get the driver to pull over.
Police say the driver of the car sped away and led officers on a chase that ended when the vehicle crashed, then burst into flames on Ferry and Van Buren just before 12:20a a.m.
